Botham and Manjrekar although boring and very staid make some very good points (indicating their extensive cricket knowledge)…their problem is more of delivery than the content.

The rest of the jokers you mentioned…ohh yeah…just trash all over!

Superb piece on commentators ! Lawry and Benaud are my all time favourites . Bill Lawry started the “It’s all happening here ” .It is now used by almost everyone. But Lawry uses it only when the situation warrants it.

It is good that you wrote this article on the net because no one brings this up on tv/radio etc .If someone does then may be we will get some very good commentators for the future and get rid of the likes of Wilkins , Lal , Botham ,Manjrekar(extremely boring) , LS , Slater(who talks non stop and has learnt nothing from Richie)and loads of other rubbish people
